REVIEW: “Yes To…” Brand…and other updates

Hello everyone! I apologise for anyone following my previous posts. I am an airhead at times and somehow managed to delete half my website…oops! That aside, I have a review for you guys. You know I am always complaining about never being able to find a skincare regimen that works. Either it’s too drying, too greasy, ect.

For those of you who have combination skin, I have a suggestion for you, and better yet it is a “drugstore” brand! This brand is called “Yes To…” and I’ll be reviewing two of their products. I purchased mine at a WalMart Supercenter here in the US, but for my foreign readers, there is a website for their products as well as being sold on amazon.com. I am a big fan of this brand, as it is almost completely organic and has no parabens, sulfates, or sulfites, and uses 98% natural ingredients in all their products. It’s actually good quality for less than a lot of premium brands I’ve tried.

Yes to Grapefruit Face Wash-$9.99USD

This is called Yes To Grapefruit Correct and Repair daily face wash. It is made with lemon balm, and grapefruit extracts. It has small exfoliating beads that help to keep the dirt and grime away, as well as clean black heads. It also claims to restore elasticity and radiance as well as even skin tone. Personally, I have noticed clearer skin, a more firm feeling and my skin tone is evening out a bit, so I can say that at least for my personal use this is true. I also have noticed that my pores are appearing smaller, and my face oil is definitely diminishing. It is great for daily use, and has had no drying effect those I use it twice daily.
Overall I would recommend this for those of you with oily, or combination skin.
RATING: 9/10

Yes to Tomatoes Activated Charcoal Bar-$5.99USD

Yes to Tomatoes Activated Charcoal Bar is a bar soap that, as stated is an activated charcoal soap bar. Unlike most bar soaps, this one is not slimy or perfumed heavily. I normally am not a bar soap user, however, I’ll be using this one for the foreseeable future. I have had this bar for well over 2 weeks, use it daily and not only is my skin softer, cleaner, and healthier looking, the bar itself looks barely used. It will last you quite a long time. It claims to be 98% natural ingredients, with active charcoal to scrub out impurities and leave skin healthier. I can attest that it at least mostly lives up to these claims. It can also be used for your face if you have blackhead issues, or live somewhere prone to high temperatures and dirt(like me!)
The only issue I have with the bar itself is the fact that as it is glycerin and charcoal, it does leave you literally “squeaky” clean. I’d use it last in bathing, and follow with your favourite body moisturiser. Overall, I’ll be using this product frequently, and have completely replaced my body wash with this.
RATING: 8.9/10

I’m still working on finding a good moisturiser, but these two products have made a permanent home in my beauty regimen. Also, I’ll have some pictures at a later date, but I let the kiddo pick out a hair colour for me, and she picked burgundy. I’m waiting for it to fade down a little, because it came out almost completely black o.O
Also FINALLY figured out what I’ll be doing for ComicCon this year, provided I can ever find a good substitution for blades(hubby has suggested PVC in place of the blades since metal is not allowed in any form) I believe we are going to go for Attack on Titan scout regiment uniform for me, and garrison regiment uniform for him. I’ll definitely keep you guys posted as the outfit comes along!
This month has been pretty crazy, honestly. In a good way for the most part though. I passed my classes with acceptable grades. It kept me busy most days, on top of work. This heat is killing me with being over 100 degrees already. It always gets up in that range, but usually not until mid-late July, and it started early June this year. If you believe old-wives tales that means we will have an exceptionally cold winter, though and that would definitely make me happy!
I’m going to buy the Kat Von D Alchemy Palette as well as a new Tarte Palette with my next pay period, so I’ll review those for you guys too as soon as they come in. Until next time!

What is your favourite skin care regimen?
DO you have a favourite brand, or just whatever works?

  1. I wish i knew about skin care regimens but of course, I try to stay on course with one but end up getting lazy on it and stop doing them. Some work for me like Queen Helene did for my skin and pores. That I did use consistently but stopped.

    1. Believe it or not, I am terrible at remembering skin care regimens. It’s only this last month I’ve really been trying. I went through a really bad depression phase, gained a ton of weight and just kind of went hermit. Now I’m finding losing the weight is SO much harder than putting it on, and try not to get discouraged. For that end, I started with my skincare, knowing it would make me feel prettier and more motivated to lose weight.

  2. Those products look great, especially the charcoal soap. Charcoal’s really popular in beauty products these days, but I’ve never tried it! It’s so weird to think that it can be used in so many things.

I’ve been attempting a skincare routine this year, but it’s so hard to make it a permanent part of my routine. I always forget, or just can’t be bothered! I usually use Simple cleanser, toner and moisturiser, because I have really sensitive skin. I’d love to try new products, but I’m always terrified that I might have a bad reaction to them.

So glad that you liked the products and good luck with your skincare routine!

    1. I used to really like Simple until it stopped helping with the oil control.
I have to switch up products every few months regardless though, for that very reason.

I only use this Yes To brand because it’s GREAT for sensitive skin and has no perfumes(I break out really easily sadly)
